Privacy policy
How Shinkan Manga ("this site") handles information.
1. What we collect
This site has no accounts and no sign-in. We do not collect names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or anything else that identifies you.
What this site currently stores on your device is limited to the following.
- A flag that the first-run guide has been shown (browser localStorage, under `digday.onboarded.v1`). Its only purpose is to not show the guide twice.
- Your display preference (browser localStorage, under `digday.popCollapsed.v1`). It records only whether the blurb starts folded.
- The language you chose (browser localStorage under `digday.lang.v1`, plus a cookie named `lang` holding the same value). Its only purpose is to show you the same language next time. It is not used for analytics or advertising.
As with any website, ordinary request data — your IP address, browser type, and so on — may appear in server logs.
2. What we record
This site records the titles shown to you and what you did with them. We use it to improve how titles are chosen and ordered. Here is what is recorded.
- The title shown (series name, item number, volume) and the blurb displayed at that moment
- Your action — kept or skipped, opened the details, opened the full synopsis, went to a store, shared
- Time spent (per title), the display language, and an approximate country. The country is a two-letter code inferred from the connection; the IP address itself is not recorded.
The identifier attached to these records is temporary and lasts only while the tab is open. It is never stored on your device and is lost when you close the tab. It cannot be linked to a later visit and does not identify you.
Records are kept for 24 months.

4. Disclosure to third parties
We do not provide collected information to third parties, except where disclosure is required by law.
5. External services
This site uses the following external services.
- Rakuten Web Service (Rakuten Group, Inc.) — used to obtain product data and cover images. Product information shown on this site is provided by that service.
- Supabase (Supabase, Inc.) — used to store the data this site displays.
- Google (Gemini API) and Anthropic (Claude API) — used to translate synopses and write the short blurbs for languages other than Japanese. This runs as a batch on the server; nothing is sent while you browse, and no information about you is passed to them.
Supabase's own access logs retain the originating IP address. This site does not include IP addresses in the records described in section 2, but they remain in Supabase's server-side logs.
6. Affiliate links
This site takes part in the Rakuten affiliate programme. If you buy something after following a store link from here, the operator may receive a commission.
Commission never changes which titles we show, or the order we show them in.
7. Advertising
This site currently carries no advertising. We will revise this policy before any advertising starts.
8. Cookies
This site uses no advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookie is the language cookie described in section 1; everything else lives in localStorage.
