「追放された付与術師、最強の乗算付与で成り上がる」follows a familiar shape from a different angle: a low-ranked adventurer, cast out by a party that never understood what he could actually do, turns out to be sitting on the single most useful trick in the setting. Desmond isn't flashy. He's a D-rank enchanter with what looks like a beginner's toolkit, and nobody around him bothers to ask why his numbers keep coming out strange. The answer is simple once it's explained: where every other enchanter adds a flat bonus, his formula multiplies. A plus twenty looks impressive until it's standing next to a times twenty, and the gap between those two ideas is the entire premise.
What makes the setup work is that the story doesn't rest on the gimmick alone. Desmond gets abandoned by people who genuinely couldn't see his value, which stings in a mundane, believable way before the story pivots into something more triumphant. That pivot arrives through Cynthia, his childhood friend and an S-rank adventurer in her own right, who pulls him into the strongest clan around, the Chevalier Garden. Their history together gives the power fantasy a personal anchor: this isn't just a man discovering he's strong, it's two people who made a promise years ago about conquering an impossible dungeon, and are now finally in a position to try.
Readers who enjoy the underdog-with-a-secret-advantage formula will find plenty to like here, especially in the way the multiplier concept gets applied literally instead of vaguely. Boss fights and dungeon runs become showcases for how absurd multiplication becomes at scale, and the story leans into that with unlikely victories and dungeons cleared at speeds nobody expects from someone with Desmond's official rank. It's the kind of series built for readers who like watching a character's quiet competence get proven wrong assumption by wrong assumption, panel by panel.
By the fourth volume, with the clan already established and Cynthia firmly in his corner, the appeal seems to be less about proving Desmond belongs and more about watching the gap between him and everyone else keep widening. The story doesn't need to reinvent its core idea to stay interesting; it just needs to keep finding new situations where a multiplier changes everything. That's the pleasure here: a fantasy adventure that trusts a single clever idea and lets it carry the momentum, volume after volume, without losing its shape.
