For fans of
The literary club president at his school leads a double life as an up-and-coming light novel writer, but his editor delivers a blunt critique: his romantic scenes feel unconvincing because he has no real sense of how love actually works. Determined to fix this, he sets out to study romance in the real world, treating it almost like research for his next manuscript.
The trouble is that he is spectacularly bad at reading people. Small gestures, subtle hints, the quiet signals that make up everyday interaction between boys and girls all sail past him completely. His attempts to understand love scientifically, through observation and effort, keep running into the simple fact that human feelings do not work like plot structure.
Meanwhile, a classmate who has quietly fallen for him watches his every move with her heart racing, caught between amusement and frustration as he fails to notice the obvious signs right in front of him. The gap between what he studies in theory and what is actually happening around him is where much of the humor comes from, giving the series a gentle, lightly self-aware comedy about the gap between written romance and the real thing.
Told in short four-panel bursts, 「ノンデリ久保は現実の恋が知りたい」 leans into the conventions of light novel romance only to undercut them through its hero's total lack of social instinct. Readers who enjoy school comedies built around a dense protagonist and a long-suffering love interest will find a familiar but cheerfully executed setup here, with the added wrinkle of a writer trying to reverse-engineer feelings he cannot actually recognize when they are happening to him.
It is a low-key premise, more about character comedy than dramatic stakes, and it should appeal to readers who like watching a well-meaning, hopeless protagonist slowly dig himself deeper into a situation he barely understands, while the person who actually likes him looks on in quiet exasperation.

Official synopsis
Kubo Hajime, the literary club president of Tenpurai High School who has a side as an up-and-coming light novel author, is told by his editor one day that the romance depiction in his work lacks 'reality.' Although he tries hard to learn about real-world romance to improve the quality of his novel, Kubo, who is a ground-breakingly insensitive character, cannot understand the nuances of men and women at all. His classmate, Niigaki Kanoe, who is secretly in love with him, cannot stop her heart from racing at his every move! A cute 4-panel romantic comedy by Itaru Isshiki that depicts a school life tossed about by 'light novel tropes' begins!
